Evans, Lee

Mr. Lee R. Evans, a son of John and Ina Mae Evans, was born on January 4, 1922 in Dillon, South Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, November 26, 2010 at McLeod Regional Medical Center in Florence, South Carolina, after an illness. Mr. Evans attended the public schools of Dillon County. His profession was that of a self-employed handyman. He was a member of Pentecostal Temple Church of God in Christ, Florence, SC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Moye Evans; one son, Elix Junior Haynes; three grandchildren; Betty Haynes, James Haynes, George Haynes; eight sisters, George Anna Evans, Pearl Evans, Mary Evans, Martha Evans, Nina Evans, Lucille Evans, Elouise Evans, Mildred Evans; and five brothers, Booker T. Evans, Lenlu Evans, Walter Evans, Joseph Evans and John Willie Evans. He leaves his cherish memories to: two daughters, Mary Lee Drake of Florence, SC, and Patricia Evans of the home; one son, Nathaniel Haynes of Jacksonville, FL; two grandchildren, Louenia Lyde of Florence, SC and Sophia Lacy of the home; ten great grandchildren; seventeen grandchildren to include two special grandsons, Jackie Lee Haynes of Philadelphia, PA and John Ellis Lacy, IV of Florence, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
