Marks, Elouise Ford

Mrs. Elouise Ford Marks was born on June 14, 1935 in Florence, South Carolina. She was the daughter of Thomas L. Marks, Sr. and Lillian James Ford. On Friday, November 26, 2010, at her residence, Elouise Ford Marks was called home to eternal rest. “Mother”, as she was affectionately called, attended the public schools of Florence County. Her employment was that of a Domestic Engineer for many years. “Mother” was a long-time member of Saint Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, Florence, SC. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend will be deeply missed by all who loved and knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Marks; and other siblings. Elouise leaves to cherish precious memories: her beloved six children, Joan Brockington and Thomas L. Marks, Jr. of Columbia, SC; Geraldine Marks, Susie Marks, Janie Tisdale, all of Florence, SC, and Delores (Kenny) Starks of Bonneau, SC; 15 grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Gloria (Kelvin) Coker of Florence, SC; 12 great grandchildren; six siblings, Marion (Priscilla) Ford, Ethel (Liston) Pigate, Huey (Barbara) Lee, Mary Linda Davis, Thelma (John) Jordan, all of Florence, SC, and Betty Johnson of Honolulu, HI; two sisters-in-law, Sara Ford of Florence, SC and Min. Odessa Ford of Darlington, SC; two special friends, Linda Gainey and Gurley Reaves of Florence, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to Carolina Hospice Staff, Katie L. McWhite and Community Long Term Care for the care given to our mother and loved one .
