LAKE CITY: Mrs. Mamie Howard Flowers, 63, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 20th, 2010 in a Florence Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Flowers was born in Clarendon County on August 2nd, 1947. She was a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson Howard and the late Mary Nell Parrott Howard, and was the widow of the late Ted Flowers. Mrs. Flowers was a member of Terrell‘s Church of God of Prophecy. She was a dedicated Christian who loved to go to church and worship the Lord. Mrs. Flowers greatly enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her. Mrs. Flowers‘ surviving family includes her three children, William “Little Boy” Flowers, of Cades, Trent Tedder, of Cades, and Joyce “Boot” McCutcheon (David), of Lake City; her three grandchildren, Ashley Kinder (Andy), of Coward, Shayna Parker (Jimmy), of Lake City, and Earnie Flowers, of Lake City; her two brothers-in-law, Leo Welch and Mack Flowers (Valorie), both of Lake City; twenty-six nieces; and fifteen nephews. Mrs. Flowers is preceded in death by her step-son, Ernest James Flowers; her two sisters, Lillie Casselman and Frances Welch; and her nephew, Henry “Bubba” Bryant. The family of Mrs. Flowers will have visitation from six until eight o‘clock p.m., tonight, Sunday, November 21st, 2010 in the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Flowers will be held at four o‘clock p.m., Monday, November 22nd, 2010 in Terrell‘s Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
