Rowan, Elsie Stone

Elsie Stone Rowan, age 72, of Lumberton, passed away on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. She was born in Robeson County on December 21, 1937 to the late Jessie Franklin Stone, Sr. and Anna Mae Britt. She previously worked as a Supervisor at Robeson County DSS. She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Jones and husband, Melvin of Lumberton and Dannin Stallings of Charlotte; one brother, J.F. Stone and wife, Judy of Lumberton; one sister, Billie Jean Barnes of York, SC and three grandchildren, Melissa Blair, Anna and Matthew. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Vernon Rowan and her sister, Colleen Speight. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 13, 2010 at 11:00AM at Long Branch Baptist Church with Rev. Jeff Broadwell officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Faith Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2010 from 7:00-9:00PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc., 809 East 5th Street, Lumberton.
