MRS. VIOLA E. RICHARDSON, (83) was born July 23, 1927 and on Tuesday, November 02, 2010 she surrendered to her Heavenly Father’s call. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. ” II Timothy 4:7 She was married to the late Mr. Richard Richardson and they resided in Sumter, SC; that union was blessed with nine children. In 1997, after suffering a major stroke, she relocated to Myrtle Beach, SC and lived with her daughter, Martha Sarvis until both of them became ill. On June 18, 2009, the Myrtle Beach Manor became her last earthly residence. She was preceded in death by her son, Ivory Richardson; two daughters, Sara Richardson and Nancy Richardson, two grandchildren; Robert “Ricky” Wilson and Mattie “Shell” Huntley. “Ma” as she was affectionately called, leaves to cherish her memories two sons William Richardson, of Myrtle Beach, SC and Milton Richardson, of Washington, DC; five daughters, Lurlene Richardson of Bishopville, SC, Martha (Michael) Sarvis of Myrtle Beach, SC, Elizabeth Richardson of Mayesville, SC, Sallie Choice of Sumter, SC and her granddaughter she raised from birth Rachel (Peter) Robinson of Myrtle Beach, SC; twenty-five grandchildren, special grandson who helped tremendously with her care at home, Roosevelt “Gee” Price; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; Michael Sarvis was a devoted son-in-law who took pride in taking care and loving her like his own mother. Her love for God was evident, even through her illness. While others sat at her bedside, she loved for her hand to be held. She enjoyed singing songs of praise and was always ready to engage in prayer. “Ma,” held on to life for as long as she saw the need. Finally, the battle was over ans she was ready to rest in perfect peace! Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, November 06, 2010 at Ocean View Memorial Chapel with Rev. Woodrow Jones officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Ocean View Funeral Home of Horry County.
