McNeill Jr, William Hustler

William Hustler McNeill, Jr. 89 of Seven Lakes passed after a long illness Wednesday October 27, 2010 at Kingswood Nursing Center in Aberdeen. Mr. McNeill was born July 12, 1921 in Moore County to the late William Hustler McNeill, Sr. and Ella Brewer McNeill. A funeral service will be held 11AM Saturday, October 30, 2010 at West End Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Larry Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in the Seven Lakes Cemetery. The family will hold a reception in the Crawford Center of the West End Presbyterian Church following the interment at the Seven Lakes Cemetery. A native of Aberdeen Mr. McNeill was active in the Order of the Eastern Star for over sixty years. He was elected as the youngest Worthy Grand Patron in the State of North Carolina in 1955 and has been an active member of the Aberdeen Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 259. He was also a member of the Roman Eagle Lodge 550 of Aberdeen for over fifty years. Mr. McNeill served his country during WWII in the US Air Force. He successfully flew over thirty five missions and achieved the status of having the plane that flew more missions during WWII than any other during that era. Mr. McNeill retired from Union Oil of California to Seven Lakes in 1985. Mr. McNeill is survived by a son, William McNeill, III and wife, Judith L. McNeill of Seven Lakes; a daughter, Cherianna Marie McNeill of Carolina Beach, NC; a grandson, Mathew Scott McNeill and wife June Caddell McNeill; granddaughter, Kimberly McNeill Tew and husband, Michael W. Tew; two great grandsons, Zachary Preston McNeill and Luke Henry McNeill. a brother Frank McNeill and wife Ann of Aberdeen; sisters, Ella Ruth Clark and Katherine Burns of Aberdeen Mr. McNeill was preceded in death by his wife of fifty eight years in 2003, Ernestine Y. McNeill; and two sisters, Dorothy McNeill and Margaret Robertson. A visitation will be held at Boles Funeral Home in Seven Lakes from 6 to 8PM on Friday October 29, 2010 In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer‘s Disease and Related Disorders Association at 3800 Shamrock Drive Charlotte, NC 28215
