Calvy , Mae Bertha

Mrs. Mae Bertha Benjamin Calvy (59) entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina. Mae Bertha Benjamin Calvy, oldest daughter of Mrs. Estella Jukes Benjamin and Mr. Willie Alphonso Benjamin was born June 11, 1951 in Dillon, South Carolina and departed this life on Monday, October 11, 2010 in the Carolinas Hospital System in Florence, South Carolina after an illness. Mae Bertha was a graduate of Gordon High School. She was a seamstress by profession and was employed by various companies until her health failed. Mae Bertha loved to travel and move quickly. She would move quickly at the words, “Let’s Go,” a jokester who could cheer you up and keep you laughing, and she loved to sing. Mae will be greatly missed! Mae Bertha was proceeded in death by her one and only daughter, Felicia Brown. Left to cherish fond memories her parents Mr. Willie (Alphonso) and Estella Benjamin of Dillon, S.C., 3 sons Theodore, Kevin, and Danny Brown; eleven loving and devoted brothers Preston (Rose) Benjamin, Herbert Benjamin, Alphonso (Brenda) Benjamin, Daniel, and Anthony Benjamin all of Dillon, S.C. Freddie (Dee) Benjamin, and Dennis Benjamin of Latta, S.C., Willie (Lena) Benjamin, and Ricky (Brenda) Benjamin of Marion, S.C., Clarence (Jackie) Benjamin of Wadesboro, N.C. and Leroy (Lois) Benjamin of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Six sisters Ruth Ann Pugh, Estella (William) Bethea, Evangelist Mary (Daniel) Manning, Isabella Benjamin, and Brenda Goode all of Dillon, S.C. and Nancy Pittman of Columbia, S.C. Eight grandchildren Taniya McInnis, Imani Brown, and Sadieya Bellamy whom she was rearing as her own, Zanivia Brown, N’Asis Brown, Nasir Brown, Kendra McLeod, and Destiny Brown; one great grand reared in the home Zymere Gillespie; a host on aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Home going services will be conducted on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the New Covenant Free Rock Church in Christ in Clio, South Carolina. Final resting place will be in the New Covenant Free Rock Church in Christ Church cemetery in Clio, S. C. The family will receive friends at 2121 Wine Court in Dillon, S.C.
