Sweeney E. Stone
LAKE CITY: Mr. Sweeney E. Stone, 69, husband of Margie M. Stone, died Monday, October 25, 2010, at his residence after an illness. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Lake City Presbyterian Church with burial in the Lake City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00—8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC. Mr. Stone was born December 6, 1940, in Florence County, a son of the late Alfred Paul Stone and Ernestine Gaskins Stone. He was a graduate of Johnsonville High School and retired from the Quality Control Department of Colonial Rubber Company of Kingstree. He was a member of Lake City Presbyterian Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, member of the church choir, former Elder of the church and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Mr. Stone loved music, reading and hunting. Surviving besides his wife Margie M. Stone of Lake City include: His children, Ryanne S. Cribb and her husband, David of Hemingway and Jay Stone and his wife, Krissie of Lake City; sister, Jane S. Chandler and her husband, Tom of Johnsonville; grandchildren, Ashlyn Stone, Cameron Stone, Peyton Cribb and Wade Cribb; brother-in-law, Marion J. “Charlie” Davis of Johnsonville; special cousin, Freddie McClam of Lake City; and a number of nieces and nephews.
