Beatrice C. Lyerly

LAKE CITY: Mrs. Beatrice Cameron Lyerly, 92, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 24th, 2010 in her home after a long illness. Mrs. Lyerly was born in Florence County on November 9th, 1917. She was a daughter of the late Thomas Walter Cameron and the late Ina McAllister Cameron and was the widow of the late Eugene Lyerly. Mrs. Lyerly was a member of Paran Baptist Church. She was saved there on February 7th, 1949 and has remained a faithful member all these years. Mrs. Lyerly was a loving, caring, and giving wife, mother, and grandmother. The family would like to extend a special “thank-you” to caregivers Rudy Grate and Dorothy Felders and to Ascension Hospice for the excellent care they gave Mrs. Lyerly during her times of need. Mrs. Lyerly‘s surviving family includes her three sons, Carlton Lyerly (Margaret), of Florence, Ronald Lyerly, of the home, and Larry Lyerly, of Olanta; her three daughters, Nancy Long (Tom), of Effingham, Bonnie Coward (Allen), of Coward, and Cheryl Brown, of Florence; her eight grandchildren; her twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lyerly is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Cindy Lyerly Tyler; her three brothers, Veland, Raymond, and Joe Cameron; and her two sisters, Mae Cameron and Estelle Reagan. The family of Mrs. Lyerly will have visitation from six until eight o‘clock p.m., Monday, October 25th, 2010 in the funeral home. Funeral services for Mrs. Lyerly will be held at eleven o‘clock a.m., Tuesday, October 26th, 2010 in Brockington Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Powell Cemetery near Johnsonville.
