Charles Lamar McGee
COWARD: Mr. Charles Lamar McGee, 80, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 21st, 2010 after a long illness. Mr. McGee was born in Florence County on July 2nd, 1930. He was a son of the late Clyde McGee and the late Alma McAllister McGee and was married to Eldera Pate McGee. Mr. McGee was a member of Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a former deacon, and was a long-time farmer in Coward. Mr. McGee‘s surviving family includes his wife of 61 years, Eldera P. McGee, of the home; his daughter, Martha M. Boswell (Jody), of Lake City; his two grandchildren, Mary Grace Mungo (Matt), of Columbia, and Sarah B. Holmes (Michael), of Spartanburg; his great-granddaughter, Martha Ann “Mae” Holmes, of Spartanburg; and two special cousins, Nettie Bell McCutcheon and Bobbie Isgett, both of Coward. Mr. McGee is preceded in death by a brother, H.L. McGee. The family of Mr. McGee will have visitation from five until seven o‘clock p.m., Friday, October 22nd, 2010 in the funeral home. Funeral services for Mr. McGee will be held at eleven o‘clock a.m., Saturday, October 23rd, 2010 in the Coward Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
