Mr. Van Sant was born July 3, 1954, in Norwalk, Connecticut, a son of the late Peter D. Van Sant, Sr. and the late Ann Elizabeth Davis Van Sant. He was a long time member of the Jaycees in Putnam County, New York, and was an avid Nascar fan. He previously worked as a small engine mechanic and was currently employed with Walmart. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Resurrection. Mr. Van Sant never met a stranger and was a friend to all who knew him. He is survived by his wife, Micheale Mullin Van Sant of Loris; three children, Stephanie Rogers, Angela Hudson and her husband James, and Melissa Van Sant all of Loris; his father-in-law Charles “Mickey” Mullin, Jr. of Loris; four grandchildren, Dallas Rogers, Brianna Rogers, Noah Rogers, and Aiden Hudson; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010, at the Catholic Church of the Resurrection in Loris. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
