Eddie Lee Eaddy
HANNAH: Mr. Eddie Lee Eaddy, 84, husband of Helen “Peggy” Keefe Eaddy, died Tuesday, October 19, 2010, at his residence after an illness. Mr. Eaddy was born September 10, 1926, in the Hannah Community, a son of the late Curtis Lee Eaddy and Emma Poston Eaddy. He was a graduate of Hannah High School and retired from sales and farming. Mr. Eaddy was a life-long member of Union Baptist Church and a member of the Men‘s Sunday School Class. After his retirement he continued his love of the outdoors with his gardening skills and his farm equipment. Daddy loved to “tinker” with things and make them work or fix them to where they would never work again. He was the “Best”. During his younger years, he played basketball with “Tom‘s Grill”. He remained a lover of this sport and helped coach the New Prospect Christian School “Mustangs” for a few years and was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” from the school. Surviving include: His wife of 61 years, Helen “Peggy” Keefe Eaddy of Hannah; one son, Lynwood (Sandy) Eaddy of Florence; two daughters, Kaye (Gary) Stone and Cynthia (James) Miles, both of Hannah; twin sister, Edith Lambert of Florence; five grandchildren, Amy (Jason) Thompson, Shelly (John) Flud and Warren (Brandi) Stone, all of Florence; PV2 James “Jae” (Erica) Miles of Fairbanks, Alaska and Emily Miles and friend, Josh Marlow of Hannah; six great-grandchildren, Avery Thompson and Jennings Thompson, both of Florence, Layne Stone, Leigh Anne Stone and Liberty Stone, all of Florence and Gracelynn Miles of Fairbanks, Alaska; a number of special nieces and nephews and a host of special relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a grandson, Lee Edward Miles; three sisters, Eula Lee Turner, Julia Turner and Vermell Daniels and five brothers, Lucian Eaddy, Doug Eaddy, Heyward Eaddy, Capers Eaddy and Earl Eaddy. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 22, 2010 at Union Baptist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery directed by Carolina Funeral Home, Scranton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, October 21st, 2010 at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 Bypass, Scranton, SC, and at other times at the home: 1421 W.
