Neverseen Baker

Ms. Neverseen “Nell” Baker, the daughter of Namon and Laura Washington Baker, was born on September 4, 1955 in Florence, South Carolina. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at the McLeod Hospice House after an illness. “Nell”, as she was lovingly called, attended the public schools of Florence County and graduated from McClenaghan High School in the Class of 1973. She was formerly employed with Kentucky Fried Chicken and the Florence Morning News for 10 years. “Nell” was a member of Majority Missionary Baptist Church, Florence, South Carolina. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three siblings, Diana Washington, Joe Lewis Washington and Yancy “Yank” Baker. She leaves to cherish her memory: three sisters, Bonnie (David, Sr.) Walden, Louise (Morris) Graham and Carol Brown; four brothers, Eljay (Annie) Baker, Chris (Samantha) Baker, Douglas (Dorothy) Baker and Charles (Genita) Coplon; three aunts, Mary Law-Coppedge, Jewlen (Roosevelt) Williamson and Dora Smith; brother-in-law, Allen Echols; goddaughter, LaTonya Stuckey Towns; godson, Dominque Brown; many lifelong friends; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. “Nell” was truly loved by all of her family and friends. She will be dearly missed!
