Vera Mae Goins Mumford

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 11, 2010 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church officiated by Rev. Earl Henderson and Rev. Rodger Adkins. Burial will follow the service in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Vera Mae Goins Mumford was born in Scotland County on July 13, 1942. She was the daughter of the late Neil Goins, Sr. and Annamae Strickland Goins. She was a loving homemaker and a precious mother that dedicated her life to caring for her family and others. She faithfully served as a lifetime member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church. At her passing, she entered the gates of Heaven surrounded by her family and friends. Vera passed away home on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the age of 68. In addition to her parents, Vera was also preceded in death by a sister, Hazelene Goins. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her husband of 45 years, Jesse Norman Mumford of the home; her children, Gloria Ann Mumford, Vera Renee Mumford, Tony Norman Mumford all of the home and Maxine Locklear of Hasty, NC; two very special godsons, Austin Shawn Jernigan and Dustin Shane Jernigan; a granddaughter, Amanda “Mandy Beth” Young of Timmonsville, SC; brothers, Olden Goins and wife Jo of Chattanooga, TN, Eugene Goins and wife Angie of McColl, SC, Curly Goins and wife Frances of McColl, SC, Neil Goins, Jr., and wife Patricia of McColl, SC, Ricky Goins and wife Connie of Bennettsville, SC,; sisters, Fronie Brigman and husband Lester of McColl, SC, Margaret Jernigan and husband Tommy of McColl, SC and Diane Goins of McColl, SC; many nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Visitation will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
