Shirley Rabon Martin

Loris… Shirley Rabon Martin of Loris, SC entered her eternal home in Heaven on September 1, 2010. Shirley was born in Chesterfield County on August 7, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Bert and Alma Odom Perdue. Shirley was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and was an employee of Horry‘s Restaurant for 27 years. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and mother-in-law. There to welcome her into her heavenly home was her wonderful husband, Rev. Franklin Rudolph Rabon. Together they shared 34 years of marriage, six children, fifteen grandchildren, and twenty two great grandchildren. Shirley was twice blessed and leaves behind a loving and devoted husband of 6 years, Carlon Rudolph Martin and his children Geane (Sammy) Caines of Aynor, SC, Keith Martin of Loris, SC, Carlon Martin of Dillon, SC, and Michelle Martin of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is survived by four children, Wayne Rabon of Patrick, SC, Margo (Tim) Cox of Loris, SC, Millie Smith of Loris, SC, and Locket (Tim) Ebbs of Loris, SC. Shirley also leaves behind a sister and brother that she held very dear to her heart, Clara Mae Brown of Patrick, SC and James (Shelby) Perdue of Hartsville, SC. She is predeceased by two children, Kendall “Rabi” Rabon of Hartsville, SC and Almajean “Amy” McDowell of Loris, SC. She was also predeceased by one brother, Floyd Perdue of Hartsville, SC, and one sister, Katie Linda Perdue of Hartsville, SC. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 4, 2010 from 6-8 PM at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 5, 2010 from the Ward Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddie Martin and Rev. Rusty Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Twin City Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be sent to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 4350 Red Bluff Road, Loris, SC 29569.
