Virginia B. Taylor
(July 3, 1924 – September 17, 2010) Mullins, S.C. Virginia B. Taylor, 86, formerly of Johnson City and Jonesboro, Tennessee died Friday, September 17, 2010 at Marion County Medical Center after a short illness. She was born in Jefferson County, Tennessee to the late Charles Alexander and Mary Ruth Henry Bales. She was a retired school teacher with the Washington County Tennessee School System. She was preceded in death by her husband of over fifty-one years, William Paul (Bill) Taylor and one sister, Dorothy Bales Davis. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Taylor moved to Mullins to be close to her daughter. She was a former member of Westminister Presbyterian Church in Johnson City, Tennessee where she was a member of the Christian Women‘s Club. After moving to Mullins, she became a member of Mullins Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Taylor was an avid sports fan and dearly loved the University of Tennessee Lady Vols basketball team. She found great joy in baking and making floral mints which she often shared with family and friends. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Kayce, who also brought her great joy. Her love for her family and grandchildren was evident in everything she did. Survivors include one son, William C. (Chuck) Taylor of Mechanicsville, Virginia; one daughter, Becky (Charlie) Graham of Mullins; two granddaughters, Suzi Taylor Graham (Dean) Grigg and Kelli Hudson Graham all of Columbia, S.C. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2010 at New Market Cemetery in New Market, Tennessee directed by Fielden Funeral Home of New Market. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mullins Presbyterian Church, 809 Sandy Bluff Road, Mullins, S.C. 29574.
