Randy Evans

COWARD: Mr. Randy Evans, 53, passed away peacefully September 30th, 2010 in McLeod Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Mr. Evans was born in Florence County on February 16th, 1957. He was a son of Mae Bradshaw Evans and the late Marvin Melvin Evans, and was married to Barbara Elaine Story Evans. Mr. Evans was a member of Gilead Free Will Baptist Church and retired as a Sergeant First Class from the United States Army National Guard. He served in Desert Storm, War for Iraqi Freedom, and a tour of duty in Germany. The family would like to extend a special “thank-you” to Dr. Morris Brown, Dr. Palmer Kirpatrick, Dr. James Smith, Dr. Carolyn Reed, and to the nurses and staff at McLeod Hospital for the compassion and care given to Mr. Evans in his times of need. Mr. Evans surviving family includes his mother, Mae Evans, of Scranton; his wife, Barbara Elaine S. Evans, of the home; his children, Candace Elizabeth Evans of Coward, Waylon Brice Marvin Evans, of Coward, Reggie Oneal Evans (Heather), of Darlington, Rusty Timmy Evans (Katherine) of Lake City, John Paul Howle (Megan), of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Stephanie Nicole E. McKnight (Jay), of Scranton; his two brothers, Harry Evans (Loraine) of Johnsonville, and Ricky Evans (Marie) of Scranton; his sister, Sarah Dotson (Terry) of Irmo; his grandchildren, Logan Evans, Kirsten Evans, and Aiden Evans, all of Darlington, Seth Evans and Will Evans of Lake City, Cassidy McKnight and Ben McKnight, both of Scranton, and Campbell Howle, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and his dearest and special friends, Melvin and Donna Cantley, Lee Hyman, Jeff Ard, Bobby Moore, and all of those who shared in friendship with Mr. Evans. The family of Mr. Evans will have visitation from six until eight o‘clock p.m., Saturday, October 2nd, 2010 in the funeral home. Funeral services for Mr. Evans will be at three o‘clock p.m., Sunday, October 3rd, 2010 with Full Military Honors. Services will be held in the Gilead Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Lake City Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Post Office Box 22718, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73123.
