Mary Alice Webber

Mrs. Mary Alice Webber, age 88, of Lexington, entered this life on August 28, 1922 in Florence, South Carolina. She was the daughter of the late, Charles H. & Irene Zehe Sandifer. She was raised in Florence and was a 1939 graduate of Florence High School. She was united in marriage on August 1, 1944 in Florence, South Carolina to Ralph E. Webber. To this happy union arrived three sons to bless their home. The family moved to Switzerland County and farmed there for twenty years and moved to Jefferson County in 1973. She retired in 1988 from the Madison State Hospital where she had worked since 1972 as a psychiatric attendant. She had last worked for Developmental Services in Madison for several years and enjoyed babysitting. She had enjoyed helping her late husband farm over the years. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Kent Christian Church in Kent, Indiana. She also enjoyed gardening, raising flowers, crocheting, traveling with her late husband and volunteering with RSVP. Mary Alice died Saturday, October 2, 2010 at 2:14 a.m. at the Hanover Health & Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY Mary Alice will be missed by her loving sons: Tom Webber and his wife, Liz of Lexington, Indiana, Ralph S. Webber & his fiance�e’, Linda Mead of West Hartford, Connecticut, Philip L. Webber & his wife, Paula of Richmond, Virginia; her sister: Catherine Sandifer of Florence, South Carolina; her brother: Philip Sandifer of Florence, South Carolina; her grandchildren: Christa & Eric Ewing, Erin & Chris Lyons, Leah, Blake & Meredith Webber; her great grandson, Elias; several nieces, nephews & other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles H. & Irene Zehe Sandifer; her husband, Ralph E. Webber died, June 1, 1997; her brothers, Charles H., William Ross, Donald M., Larry and an unnamed infant brother; her sister, Sara Sandifer. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at 11:00 a.m., by Bro. Doug Lee at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Vevay Cemetery in Vevay, Indiana. VISITATION Friends may call Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana.
