Johanna Antersberger Lowder
SCRANTON: Mrs. Johanna Antersberger Lowder, 76, wife of Russell H. Lowder, died Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at home after an illness. Mrs. Lowder was born September 17, 1934, in Kolbermoor, Germany, a daughter of the late Johann Antersberger and Josephine Holy Antersberger. She was a homemaker and member of Grace Free Will Baptist Church, Lake City. Mrs. Lowder was a life-time member of the DAV Auxillary, Unit #5, Sumter, SC, and a former Cub Scout Den Mother. Survivors include: Her husband, Russell H. Lowder of Scranton; daughter, Michelle L. Hodge and her husband, Charles of Thomasville, Alabama; former daughter-in-law, Alice Lowder Paul of Myrtle Beach; grandchildren, Katrina Lowder, Russell Lowder, Marie Lowder, Heather Hodge, Marybeth Hodge and Hannah Hodge; great-grandchildren, Shane Morin and Dacy Robison; and sister, Elizabeth Ward and her husband, James of Russellville, Arkansas. Mrs. Lowder was preceded in death by a son, Hubert Van Lowder; two brothers and two sisters. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Thursday, September 30, 2010, at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton, SC, and at other times at the home: 1654 Lowders Lane, Scranton, SC. Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 1, 2010, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, Scranton, with burial in the Lake City Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 950 – 48th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, SC 29577. The family would like to especially thank Winyah Hospice and nurses, Jennifer Lowder Poston, Jennifer Poston and Michelle Coward for the great care and concern shown to Mrs. Johanna and her family during this time.
