Frances Robinson White

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21: 4 KJV Mrs. Frances Robinson White was born on November 12, 1935 in Florence, South Carolina. She was the daughter of John Purvis, Sr. and Mahalia Robinson. She departed this life on Thursday evening, September 30, 2010 at McLeod Regional Medical Center, after an illness. Frances attended the public schools of Florence County. She was part owner and operator of The Carolina Shoe Shop for over 28 years and she also worked at the Pee Dee Coalition for over 15 years until her health declined. At an early age, she expressed a saving faith in Jesus Christ and united with the New Ebenezer Baptist Church. Frances entered into the holy covenant of marriage with Charles White and they were blessed with five children. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa White; a son, Michael White; and four siblings, Walter Robinson, Lucious Robinson, Lilly Robinson and Rebecca Purvis Rhoden. Cherish memories are left to: three devoted sons, Herman White, Milton White of the home; and Jeffrey (Vedia) White of Darlington, SC; four grandchildren; one sister, Kathy P. Willis of Florence, SC; two brothers, John (Sara) Purvis of Florence, SC, and Donald (Geraldine) Purvis of New Orleans; a special sister whom she was raised up with, Edith Mae Jones of Florida; special niece, Catherina White Cooper of Florence, SC; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
