Clara M. Cabbagestalk

(December 20, 1925 – August 20, 2010) Mrs. Clara M. Cabbagestalk entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 20, 2010 in the McLeod Regional Medical Center in Dillon, South Carolina. Clara was joined in matrimony to the late James “Boot” Cabbagestalk and to this union 12 children were born. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Clara “Sugal” Bellmon. Clara was a faithful and dedicated member of Bible Way Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Pastor Michael Keys. Mother Cabbagestalk affectionately known also as “Mother,” was a member of the Mother’s Board, Women’s Prayer Group, and the Sunday School Department. Mother’s favorite benediction was Psalms 19:14 “Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.” Mother will be greatly missed by the entire Bible Way Tabernacle Church family. Clara was also active at the Dillon County Council for the Aging. She was a loving mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. Carla leaves to mourn her passing, her children: Lillie Mae Coleman of New Jersey, James “Bunny” (Maggie Mae) Davis, Linzy “Lynn” Davis, James “Bootsie” (Florine) Cabbagestalk, Betty Cabbagestalk, Samuel “Noody” Cabbagestalk, John “Tang” Cabbagestalk, Joyce (James) McLellan, Kenneth (Karen) Cabbagestalk, Shirley Cabbagestalk and Gene Cabbagestalk, all of Dillon, S.C. Four sisters: Dorothy Wheeler, Frances Johnson, Evelyn Bethea, and Vivian Manning all of Dillon, S.C. Three brothers: Bill Davis, Jimmy Davis and Clyde Dixon. she also leaves to mourn, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, church family, relatives, and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Cabbagestalk were conducted on Friday, August 27, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. from the Manning Baptist Church in Dillon, S.C. Burial followed in the Oaky Point Cemetery in Latta, S.C. The family will receive friends at 527 Beaufort Street in Dillon, South Carolina.
