Teachers Take the Streets

Teachers in Oklahoma and Kentucky spent Monday marching out, demanding better pay and more education funding.

Public schools in Kentucky were closed Monday as thousands of teachers descended on the state capitol in Frankfort. Their anger was motivated by a pension reform bill for which Republican governor Matt Bevin told teachers they should be grateful. A suspect is on the run in Oklahoma after allegedly shooting six people, including two police officers.

  People in Oklahoma are now on edge as a murder suspect is on the run. The man, 38-year old Michael Vance, Jr, is accused of killing six people in  a spree through the town of Wellston. Two of the victims were relatives of Vance’s, killed in the nearby town of Luther. Vance is also the suspect in the wounding…
