CHARLOTTE, NC — The Charlotte Hornets’ Kemba Walker has been named a starter for the upcoming 2019 NBA All-Star Game.
Kemba will start for the Eastern Conference team when the game tips off on February 17th. This is the third time since 2017 Kemba has been named an NBA All-Star, but the first time he has been named a starter.
Voting for this year’s All-Star Game concluded on Monday, and starters were announced Thursday evening. Reserves will be named on January 31st.
Kemba joined the then-Charlotte Bobcats in 2011 after being drafted 9th overall out of UConn.
The 2019 NBA All-Star Game will take place on February 17, 2019 at 7pm at the Spectrum Center in Uptown Charlotte.
