Atlantic Stage Acting Class
Atlantic Stage will be adding a Wednesday evening class to its Fall 2011 line-up. “Acting for the Stage” Work will include monologue and scene work, exercises that contribute to an understanding of the tenets of acting and exposure to the vocabulary of the stage. This class is appropriate for ages 15 and up, no acting experience necessary. Instructor: Sandi Shackelford is a founding member of Atlantic Stage where she has appeared in Eleemosynary and Three Viewings. Recently retired from CCU after teaching acting there since 1989, Shackelford earned an MFA in Acting from Southern Methodist University and studied Classical acting at the National Theatre of Great Britain. Her television and film credits include East Bound and Down, Army Wives, Sleeping with the Enemy, New Best Friend, and White Squall. Location: CCU Myrtle Beach Education Center located at 79th Ave. N. and 17 Bypass Schedule: Wednesdays Oct. 19, 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16, 30, Dec. 7, and 14 from 6.30pm until 8:00 pm Cost: $125.00 (10% discount for two or more family members registering together).
