Food and cooking have always been an integral part of my life. I have always prided myself in creating mouthwatering, creations for family and friends. When cooking, I feel as if I am an artist with a blank canvas so, for me, the presentation is almost as important as the taste.
However, in January of this year I decided to become Vegan to see if it would help me lose a few pounds and feel better. In the beginning, it seemed like I was destined to eat nothing more then salads, beans and rice.
While researching this new lifestyle, in the hopes of finding flavorful food choices that my family and friends would also appreciate, I stumbled upon the documentary film, Food Inc. That film changed me to the core and I became committed to not only being vegan but living an organic life too!
Still, the challenge was to create visually appealing, healthy meals! I discovered several web sites with vegan recipes and found the cook book: The Conscious Cook by Tal Ronnen... It's been an exciting journey that has only just begun! I now change up ingredients and create my own versions of healthy, delectable fare that easily wins over even the most dedicated of carnivores!
Oh, and I've lost 15 pounds too!
