Hartsville Idol to hold an additional audition and announces new voting ballots for the 2010 season.
Hartsville Idol promoter Jeff Martin announced Tuesday that there will one last final audition for the event on June 12th at 1:00 pm at the Southern Candy Kitchen. Participants pay a $5 registration fee and must sing an a capella song of their choice to enter; singers chosen during that audition will compete at the June 26th Hartsville Idol event.
“The voting process will change a bit this year as we focus on our theme of “Salute to the Troops” by charging a one-time only fee of $1 for a voting card,” said Martin. “That adds up to only 12 ½ cents a vote; the fees will benefit the Veteran’s Memorial Fund to place sculptures honoring our troops in Burry Park, and to offset the expenses incurred by this large event.” The voting card will be given to registered voters and re-used each event night to vote during each the Hartsville Idol 2010 season.
Hartsville Idol will be held in Burry Park in downtown Hartsville at 6:30pm on June 5, 12, 19, 26 - July 10, 17, 24, and August 7. There is no fee to watch, and the public is encouraged to bring lawn chairs for the outdoor events. Refreshments and bathrooms are provided. The event is sponsored by Hartsville Downtown Development Association, the City of Hartsville, and Agape` Hospice. For more information, contact (843) 332-1600 or (843) 332-3641.
