Sherry Laible-White and Kim Gordon took a trip to Myrtle Beach SC October 31 - November 7. On November 6 they were able to get a boat ride to Sandy Island and a tour by Laura who lives on there. Laura walked them to the AME church, former school building, and her home where she served cold bottled green tea. Laura drove the boat telling them about having a boat accident a few years ago while taking the waterway to the dock. Sandy Island had no cars and the homes very small and modest. Most of the people living there were descendants of slaves.
