News Release from The Healing Lodge
Fatherhood Rally 2012 is Saturday, June 16th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pembroke Recreation Complex (Hwy 711). With its theme “Let’s Make Us Whole,” the rally builds on similar rallies held from 1999 to 2006 which The Healing Lodge helped conduct in its later years.
Trophies and prizes for the families include winners of the Father/Son Look-a-like Contest, the Father/Daughter Look-a-like Contest and the Father/Child Sack Race. Call 910-522-0900 to register for the Father/Child competitions.
Along with the Father/Child competitions, the rally features food, fun, live entertainment and face painting.
Fatherhood Rally 2012 sponsors include; Pembroke True Value, Lumbee Guaranty Bank, First Bank, LRDA, Burger King and 1st Choice Insurance and Realty.
Native American Interfaith Ministries (NAIM) is a nonprofit, faith based organization serving Robeson County since 2001. The Healing Lodge, NAIM’s leading ministry, has conducted various community driven health projects like the Sweet Success diabetes awareness program and the Seeds of Hope women empowerment program.
The Fatherhood Rally 2012 is the first major event of the new men’s empowerment program called Our Father.
