DARLINGTON, S.C. (AP) — Regan Smith took home the checkered flag at Darlington Raceway to earn his first Sprint Cup victory last night.

Smith held off second-place finisher Carl Edwards for the final two laps of the Southern 500.

The race also saw a brief confrontation between Kyle Busch and Kevin Harvick.
